Annual Report

2016

Red Rocks Church,
As we look back on 2016, this year can be summed up by one rhetorical question: "Can you believe we get to do this?" This question, which has turned into a proclamation of God's faithfulness, has served to remind each of us this year that God is doing something special in and through Red Rocks Church.

Can you believe we get to be part of a church that gathers in prisons and former Vietnamese grocery stores? In converted dinner theaters and old medical office buildings? In high school auditoriums not only in the mountains of Colorado, but also in Brussels, Belgium? We gather to go! Jesus told us that we are to "Go into all the world, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." So remind yourself today that we are experiencing the Great Commission in action. We are a part of something that God is doing. Can you believe it?

To God alone be the glory for all of the amazing things we have seen and have had the privilege to be a part of. Thank you for praying, giving, going, and serving in 2016. God is up to something and we can't wait to see what's next. Let's join our hearts, our efforts and prayers together so that we can continue to see God do more than we could ever ask or imagine this next year.

Last year was like a year we've never experienced before; the growth in numbers, but more importantly growth in spiritual depth of our ministry as a whole was an absolute answer to prayer. We believe that what happened last year will be the catalyst for something special in the future of RRY.

This year we saw God move in miraculous ways throughout LifeGroups all over the Denver metro area. People didn’t just learn more about Christ, but they grew in their personal relationship with Him. It wasn’t all pretty, but this year we saw marriages, babies, deaths, promotions, jobs lost, and everything in between. Through these experiences, we rallied as LifeGroups and as family. We grew closer to Jesus and have a deeper understanding of His immense love for each one of us!

Red Rocks Church launched it’s 5th, and first international campus in Brussels on October 2nd 2016. The campus sits in Waterloo, a commune just south of the Brussels metro area which has a population of 1.8 million. The campus is represented by over 13 nations and has been a source of joy and encouragement to many whether they are just passing through or live here permanently.

We are fulfilling a great need in this area, and that's why people travel up to an hour on Sundays to get hereā€¦because they need a church to call home, a community to belong to, and a place for their spirits to find encouragement and rest. Red Rocks Brussels is indeed a light in a dark place, an oasis in a desert.
- Tyler Hoffman, Campus Pastor Brussels Campus

When I think about the people of Red Rocks Church, one of the first things that comes to mind is "generosity." Time and time again I am inspired and humbled by our people. They give their money, they give their time, they give their resources, and they still ask if there is more they can do. True generosity isn't about doing, it's a way of living and a posture of the heart. Our people exemplify that.

Our Creative department is made up of a variety of personalities who all contribute by being committed to be the most creative church creative team in the world. Our creative department strives to do whatever it takes to raise the bar on excellence when it comes to producing content to bring a new, fresh perspective on biblical principles. Over the last year, the creative department has grown from 6 creative team members to 10 creative team members. They provide creative assets for all supporting ministries at Red Rocks Church, along with constantly maintaining a cohesive brand across all of our campuses. Our team is also growing as we continue to add skilled volunteers to our photography and stage design teams within this department which has allowed us to extend our team out into our congregation. We believe that being fun, staying relevant and focusing on bringing Jesus into the light keeps us motivated to being more and more creative and effective as we try to convey the story of Jesus through many facets of art and creativity.

Financial FAQ

HOW MUCH CASH ON HAND DOES RED ROCKS HAVE?

At end of 2016, the church had $4.67 mil cash on hand. A significant portion of that is set aside as reserves for the church as part of our general stewardship policy to maintain operation reserves. The rest of the cash and any remaining Building Stories funds will be used to complete current expansion and for future expansion in 2017 and beyond.

ARE AUDITED FINANCIALS AVAILABLE?

As in years past, the financial numbers in this annual report are audited. Additionally, a full copy of our financial audit can be downloaded at redrockschurch.com.

Red Rocks Church voluntarily performed an independent audit of its 2016 financial statements (Capin & Crouse LLP).

“What a great year! The financial strength of Red Rocks Church is due to everyone’s amazing financial generosity and the stewardship of the resources by the entire staff. As board members, we are blessed to be a part of what God and His people are doing.”
- Dave Odling, Red Rocks Church Financial Board Member
