Annual Report

2017

The Son of God said it and we believe it, “Put God First.” Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” He was telling his disciples and followers everywhere not to be anxious about this life but to simply put God first and watch him lead, provide, and move us forward in the proper direction.

The first time the Red Rocks Church staff gathered in January of 2017, we committed together, as a team, to put God first in our own lives and in our church. We quickly realized that when we truly put God in his proper place, it means that we cannot put ourselves first. Believe it or not, this isn’t always easy. Committing to this theme led us very quickly to a question that permeates every department at Red Rocks Church. The question that must be asked and properly responded to every single day, is simply “What’s best for the church?” When we are all asking ourselves, each other, and the Lord this question it gives us a good chance to stay on course.

The results of putting God first in 2017 are self-evident. He did what He said He would do in that Matthew 6 passage, and He has added. He added to our numbers daily. He added leaders. He added resources. He has added opportunities. And most importantly he has added thousands of souls to the Kingdom of God.

When Jesus said that He would build His Church, He wasn’t kidding. We are all witnesses to this truth. May God help us every day and in the year to come as we do everything within our strength and resolve to keep Him first.

When I think about the people of Red Rocks Church, one of the first things that comes to mind is "generosity." Time and time again I am inspired and humbled by our people. They give their money, they give their time, they give their resources, and they still ask if there is more they can do. True generosity isn't about doing, it's a way of living and a posture of the heart. Our people exemplify that.

Financial FAQ

HOW MUCH CASH ON HAND DOES RED ROCKS HAVE?

At end of 2017, the church had $6.99M cash on hand. A significant portion of that is set aside as reserves for the church as part of our general stewardship policy to maintain operation reserves. The rest of the cash and any remaining Building Stories funds will be used to complete current expansion and for future expansion in 2017 and beyond.

ARE AUDITED FINANCIALS AVAILABLE?

As in years past, the financial numbers in this annual report are audited. Additionally, a full copy of our financial audit can be downloaded at redrockschurch.com.

Red Rocks Church voluntarily performed an independent audit of its 2017 financial statements (Capin & Crouse LLP).
